Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences: A Beacon of Impact in THE Rankings 2024

      Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences (KUMS) has recently made its inaugural appearance in the Impact Ranking and achieved the fourth position among the Ministry of Health and Medical Education’s affiliated universities. This ranking follows the Iran University of Medical Sciences, Kerman University of Medical Sciences, and Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, highlighting the institution’s increasing impact in the field of medical education and research.
Dr. Yadollah Bahrami, Director of Medical Information and Scientific Resources said, “We are delighted to announce that our institution has secured a position in the esteemed Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2024. These rankings assess global universities’ influence on society in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through their research, teaching, and outreach endeavors. This exemplary achievement serves as the cornerstone for boosting the university’s global and regional standing.”
He announced that KUMS has achieved rankings in nine Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically in the areas of “Good health and well-being, No poverty, Quality education, and Partnership for the goals”. Our university is ranked between 101-200 in “good health and well-being,” 201-300 in “no poverty,” 301-400 in “reducing inequalities,” and 401-600 in “quality education.” Dr. Bahrami also added, “Among nine out of 17 SDGs in which we participated, our university’s overall rank is estimated to be between 801-1000 out of 2152 institutions from 125 countries worldwide.” The details of THE Impact Ranking (2024) of institutions can be accessed at https://www.timeshighereducation.com/impactrankings.
