THE World University Rankings
The Times Higher Education (THE) ranking system is widely regarded as one of the most reputable international systems for evaluating and ranking universities worldwide. It annually provides comprehensive rankings based on data from over 2600 universities across 93 countries. Initially created in partnership with the QS database in 2004, the Times database later independently evaluated scientific centers starting in 2010.
The Times World Ranking assesses universities across various subject areas, including 11 specific subject rankings. Criteria such as education, research, citations, industrial income, and international reputation are considered, using 13 indicators. The rankings cover areas such as engineering and technology, biological sciences, natural sciences, arts and humanities, health and clinical sciences, social sciences, computer sciences, psychology, education, and law.
In addition to its website, the institution maintains a magazine that publishes news, expert analyses, and discussions in the field of higher education, in both English and global formats.
The key criteria of this ranking system are education, research, citations, industrial income, and international reputation, each with its own set of indicators. The ranking is based on 13 indicators, with 30% for education, 30% for research, 30% for citations, 7.5% for international reputation, and 2.5% for industry connections.
