Knowledge Translation Unit:
Knowledge translation is a dynamic and iterative process encompassing the creation, dissemination, exchange, and ethical utilization of knowledge to enhance healthcare, improve the delivery of health services and products, and fortify healthcare systems. This term was initially coined by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research in 2000.
The concept of knowledge translation is intricately tied to the integration of knowledge into clinical practice and is frequently referenced in contemporary health sciences literature. Its key attributes involve a focus on the practical application of research knowledge, ongoing collaboration between knowledge creators and users, and its interactive, non-linear nature. Successful knowledge translation leads to improved community health, more efficient healthcare delivery, enhanced clinical performance, and strengthened healthcare systems.
In line with the Ministry of Health and Medical Education's initiatives, the Knowledge Translation unit was established in 2018 to facilitate the application of research findings from Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences.
