About
The
publishing unit of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences commenced
its operations in 1998 by releasing the book " History Taking and
Physical Examination of the Heart and Circulatory System." In an effort
to broaden its scope, the unit obtained a digital publishing license for
carrier-based materials in 2013, a book publishing license in 2015, and
an online digital publishing license in 2014 from the Ministry of
Culture and Islamic Guidance. In line with its expansion into the
production and dissemination of medical and non-medical works, both
online and offline, the unit developed and implemented electronic
publishing software on its website in 2014. To date, over 102 books in
the field of medical sciences have been published by this unit, approved
by the University Publishing Council, and made accessible to students,
researchers, and faculty members. Moreover, with the aim of showcasing
the scientific accomplishments of researchers and enhancing the quality
and quantity of medical knowledge, this unit has secured preliminary
approval for 8 publication titles and obtained a scientific research
rating for 5 Persian and English publication titles.
The University
Publications Unit is committed to making significant strides toward
scientific advancement, improving public health, and elevating the
standing of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences by enhancing the
quality and quantity of its endeavors.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluating and conducting initial reviews of books for consideration by the Publications Council;
- Developing and formulating regulations, guidelines, and contracts;

Overseeing the execution of contract terms, the printing and
distribution processes, and determining the back cover price of each
book;
- Referring complaints to the Research Violations Committee;
- Securing the FIPA (International Standard Book Number) for each book from the National Library;
- Acquiring a publishing license for each printed book;
- Securing an E-book version of each publication;
- Enforcing rules and regulations pertaining to the exchange and donation of published books.
